Choose your assistant

ChatGPT Developer mode

  1. In Settings, open Security and login and enable Developer mode.
  2. Open Plugins, choose Create app, and name it xmplaylist. Enter the server URL and select OAuth.
  3. In Advanced OAuth settings, choose User-Defined OAuth Client. Enter the client ID, leave the secret empty, and select token authentication method none.
  4. Keep the scopes shown in the connection settings and uncheck private_metadata.
  5. Create the connection, sign in to xmplaylist, and allow access. Refresh the installed plugin to load its tools, then start a conversation.

Developer mode depends on your ChatGPT account and workspace settings. Public directory availability is separate from this setup.

Claude Custom connector

  1. Open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it xmplaylist, enter the server URL, and choose Continue.
  3. Keep authentication set to Always required and choose Use your own OAuth client. Enter the client ID and leave the secret empty. Keep Streamable HTTP under Advanced.
  4. Add the connector, choose Connect, and sign in to your xmplaylist account.
  5. Enable xmplaylist in your conversation’s Connectors menu and ask a question.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner first adds the custom web connector in Organization settings → Connectors. Members then connect individually. Free accounts are limited to one custom connector.

Grok Custom connector

  1. Open Grok Connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom if prompted.
  2. Name it xmplaylist, enter the server URL, and choose Add Connector.
  3. Enter the client ID and scopes from the connection settings. Leave the secret empty and choose none (PKCE only) for Token Auth Method. Remove private_metadata if Grok selected it automatically.
  4. Check the authorization and token endpoints against the values below.
  5. Choose Save & Connect, sign in to xmplaylist, and allow access.

Business and Enterprise teams need an administrator to provision the connector before members connect their accounts.

Your account, your allowance

Reports and exports share your account’s API daily allowance, which resets at midnight in America/Chicago. Connection setup, tool discovery, and station listing do not consume that allowance.

Roster tools read your saved artists. They do not add or remove them. Ask explicitly for a CSV export to receive a download link at your connected account’s email address.

Answers with source reports

Results link back to xmplaylist reports. Recorded airplay can be incomplete, and first detection on a station is not a song’s release date. New additions, biggest gainers, and most-played tracks answer different questions.

Disconnect in your assistant’s connection settings to stop using the connection. Previously saved answers and downloaded files remain. Read our privacy policy.
