Open xmplaylist in ChatGPT
  1. Open the xmplaylist plugin in ChatGPT and choose Install plugin.
  2. Sign in to your xmplaylist account and allow access.
  3. Start a new chat and ask xmplaylist a question.

On Business and Enterprise workspaces, an admin may need to enable the plugin before members can install it.

Claude Connector directory
Open xmplaylist in Claude
  1. Open the xmplaylist connector in Claude’s directory and choose Connect.
  2. Sign in to your xmplaylist account and allow access.
  3. In a chat, turn on xmplaylist from the + menu under Connectors, then ask a question.

Works in Claude on the web, desktop, and mobile. On Team and Enterprise plans, an owner may need to enable the connector for the organization before members can connect.

Grok Custom connector

  1. Open Grok Connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom if prompted.
  2. Name it xmplaylist, enter the server URL, and choose Add Connector.
  3. Enter the client ID and scopes from the connection settings. Leave the secret empty and choose none (PKCE only) for Token Auth Method. Remove private_metadata if Grok selected it automatically.
  4. Check the authorization and token endpoints against the values below.
  5. Choose Save & Connect, sign in to xmplaylist, and allow access.

Business and Enterprise teams need an administrator to provision the connector before members connect their accounts.

Troubleshooting

It says a plan is required
Connections need a Supporter or Business plan. Upgrade on the pricing page, or reconnect with the xmplaylist account that has your plan.
It says the daily limit was reached
Your assistant and API keys share one daily allowance, which resets at midnight Central Time. Supporter includes 100 requests a day and Business 2,500.
Tools are missing or out of date
In ChatGPT, start a new chat after installing. In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → xmplaylist, choose Refresh tools list from the ⋯ menu, and start a new chat. In Grok, reconnect the connector.
Answers come from the wrong account
Disconnect xmplaylist in your assistant’s connector settings, then connect again and sign in with the right account.
My artists come back empty
Roster questions read the artists saved on your roster page. Save artists there first; your assistant can’t add them for you.

Usage and privacy

Your account, your allowance

Reports and exports share your account’s API daily allowance, which resets at midnight in America/Chicago. Connection setup, tool discovery, station listing, export status checks, and requests with a mistyped station or date do not consume that allowance.

Roster tools read your saved artists. They do not add or remove them. Ask explicitly for a CSV export to receive a download link at your connected account’s email address.

Answers with source reports

Results link back to xmplaylist reports. Recorded airplay can be incomplete, and first detection on a station is not a song’s release date. New additions, biggest gainers, and most-played tracks answer different questions.

Disconnect in your assistant’s connection settings to stop using the connection. Previously saved answers and downloaded files remain. Read our privacy policy.
